As Christmas approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for the care, time, and commitment you give throughout the year.
The Christmas season often brings reflection, and it is a time when kindness, patience, and human connection matter deeply. Your ongoing support—through regular visits, conversations, and practical help—continues to make a meaningful difference to people in our community, not just at Christmas but every day.
We are very grateful for the consistency and compassion you bring to your role. Please remember to take time for yourselves over the festive period and to enjoy the season in whatever way feels right for you.

We were contacted earlier in the year by a lady from the village that wanted to donate some handmade quilted throws. These beautiful quilts have been carefully made over the previous few months. They are all similar in design, but come in many different colours and sizes.
Thank you to all the members and their guests that came along to Barrow Conservative Club for our Christmas Afternoon Tea Event. We had 27 people sitting down to eat and another 5 having the take-away option. We had 5 Volunteer drivers out collecting people from around the village to get them to the club, where another 6 volunteers were waiting to serve them fresh teas and coffees before the event began.
We were extremely pleased to welcome back Hall Orchard Choir - they sang some wonderful songs and got all of us in the Christmas mood. Dani and Nathan put on a fantastic range of savoury options for the first course, with the sausage rolls yet again being a favourite for everyone.
The volunteers then organised a few games of ‘Last Hat Bingo’ which always goes down well with a strong competitive spirit coming out to win those treasured prizes! Soon the Christmas music was playing again and the cakes and cream scones were being served. I think it’s fair to say that everyone had a great time.
Thank you to everyone that came along to Barrow Conservative Club for our Volunteers Christmas Skittles and Supper Evening. We had a great turn out with 17 volunteers and 6 guests taking part, and hopefully all having lots of fun.
It was a lovely few hours at Barrow Conservative Club for Christmas Afternoon Tea - many thanks to Dani and Nathan for looking after us all so well. Our members and guests were also very lucky to have their own Christmas Carol Concert from the children’s choir at Hall Orchard Primary School - thanks to Andy and Steve, and all the children involved.
